AI consulting — Melbourne

A Melbourne AI consultant that ships past the pilot.

Most AI projects die between pilot and production — they don't integrate, they're not built around how the work actually happens, and what ships drifts from what was demoed. Amtec AI is a Melbourne AI consultancy and automation agency that builds the part that's hard: custom AI agents for business, wired into the tools you already run, with humans in control of anything that matters. We map what's broken across your stack, build the fix, and prove it with shipped systems and real metrics.

Why AI projects stall before production

The pilot demos, then never ships.

A proof of concept that works in a sandbox is the easy 20 percent. The hard part is the messy middle — wiring it into live data, real workflows, and the edge cases a demo never shows. That's where most projects quietly stop.

Generic tools don't fit how the work happens.

Off-the-shelf AI is built for an average business that doesn't exist. It doesn't know your deal stages, your ordering history, or your approval rules — so it produces work someone still has to redo by hand.

Vendors who demo but can't integrate.

Plenty of agencies can show you a slick chatbot. Far fewer can connect it to Shopify, Xero, SharePoint, and your inbox so it actually runs the operation. Integration is the work, not the afterthought.

What working with an AI consultant looks like here

Map what's broken across the stack

We start by mapping how the work actually moves — every handoff, tool, and follow-up someone has to chase. The fix gets designed around your real operation, not a template of how businesses supposedly run.

Build custom AI agents around the real workflow

Custom CRMs, operations agents, inventory and order platforms, a full clinical operating platform — built on the tools you already run, with humans approving anything client-facing before it moves.

Prove it with shipped systems and real metrics

We don't stop at the pilot. Glow Saunas removed around forty hours of manual work a week; EVAL Agencies an estimated one hundred; Domus Property replaced a full-time assistant's admin across six tools. Systems in production, numbers attached.

Common questions

What does an AI consultant actually do?

We map how the work actually moves through your business, build custom AI agents and platforms around it — wired into the tools you already run — and ship them to production with a human approving anything that matters. The consulting is the start; the system is the deliverable.

How is an AI consultant different from an AI agency or a software house?

Broadly, a consultant advises and an agency or software house builds to a brief it's handed. Amtec does both in one engagement. We map how the work moves through your business, build the system around it, prove it against metrics agreed up front, and scale what works, with training and handover so your team owns it day to day. There's no strategy deck passed to a different team to implement.

How much does AI consulting cost?

There's no standard package, because it depends on your stack and how much of the workflow we're rebuilding. An order workflow is a different engagement from a full operating platform. Pricing is scoped per engagement, starting with an intro call. Before any build starts, the pilot scope and its success metrics are agreed in writing, so you know what's being built and how it will be measured before you commit to it.

Do you only work with Melbourne businesses?

We're based in Melbourne and work with businesses across Australia. Most of the work happens inside your existing tools, so location rarely matters — though we're happy to be the consultancy you can actually meet.

Why choose a Melbourne team over a global firm or a Big 4 consultancy?

Amtec was founded in Melbourne in 2025, and the co-founders lead the client relationship, the delivery and the build themselves. Co-founder Benjamin Saddik spent six years consulting at PwC and EY on AI integration and internal automation before starting Amtec to focus on systems that run every day inside real work. You get weekly reviews with the people building your system, and a team you can meet in person.

What does a first engagement look like?

It starts with a map of your operation: a written audit of your workflows, tools and where manual work piles up, a ranked view of where AI creates the most leverage, and a pilot scope with success metrics agreed before any build starts. We then build the pilot against your real cases, with weekly reviews, and measure it against those metrics so there's a clear call to scale, adjust or stop. From your side, it needs a point person who can make decisions and a few hours a week for reviews and sign-off.

How long does a custom AI system take to build?

It depends on how much of the operation we're rebuilding — an order workflow is a different build from a full operating platform. We map the workflow first, then scope timeline and phases on the intro call.

What kinds of businesses do you work with?

The systems in production today span retail and e-commerce, wholesale distribution, commercial property, and healthcare — a sauna retailer, a legacy distributor, a property firm, and a digital clinic behind two telehealth brands.

Do you use off-the-shelf AI tools or build from scratch?

We build custom — the agents, CRMs, and platforms are designed around your workflows and wired into your existing tools. Where a tool you already run does the job, we use it rather than rebuild it.

What happens to our data, and who approves what the AI does?

We agree the hosting, access and data-handling arrangements before work begins. Amtec uses client data to deliver and support the services, does not sell it, and does not use it to train its internal models. The systems prepare the work, and a person approves anything client-facing before it moves.
